Prepare to rage ’til you puke, because Rage is heading back to one of the greatest decades in music — the ’90s — for the entire month of June.
On each and every Saturday morning for the next four weeks, the beloved ABC programme will be dropping classic music videos from every ’90s kid’s favourite decade.
Rage’s ‘Vault’ section (from 8:30am) will run a bunch of ’90s videos covering the following three themes: The Best Australian Songs of the ’90s, The Best Overlooked Tracks of the ’90s and The Best Female Artists of the ’90s.
This will culminate on Saturday night, 24th June, with a full 90s special featuring videos chosen by viewers. So, to celebrate, here are just a handful that we’re hoping to see:
Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’
Because of course.
Daft Punk’s ‘Around The World’
Because choreography is everything.
Fatboy Slim’s ‘Praise You’
Because ’90s dancing is the best dancing.
Britney Spears’ ‘…Baby One More Time’
‘Cause it’s Britney, bitch.
Aphex Twin’s ‘Windowlicker’
Because it’s a masterpiece. And yes, we want the full 10-minute version.
What’s more, Rage isn’t the only ABC outlet set to revive the ’90s vibes in June. Double J is also set to count down the 50 best Aussie songs, overlooked tracks, female artists and live acts of the ‘90s each Saturday on its radio broadcast.
They’ll also be delving into classic ‘90s albums like Radiohead’s OK Computer and Portishead’s Dummy, and playing ‘Live At The Wireless’ sets by the likes of Jeff Buckley and Fatboy Slim. For more info, head to the Double J website.
