The latest in the BPI Insight Sessions will explore the growing significance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its likely impact on the music industry’s future.

Taking place on 23 November, the event at the BPI’s County Hall offices will feature presentations from music companies using AI on how they are using the technology to shape marketing, music making and music discovery.

Panel discussion will consider the implications of AI for copyright and how the industry can use it to grow the music business and enhance the consumer experience.

Paul Brindley, CEO and co-founder, Music Ally will chair with other participants including Ed Newton-Rex, Jukedeck CEO, Luke Ferrar, Polydor head of digital and Stuart Dredge, Music Ally editor-in-chief.

Geoff Taylor, BPI and BRIT Awards chief executive, said: ‘The unique synergy that has developed between music and digital technology means our industry now operates ahead of the curve, constantly evolving and finding innovative ways to engage its audience.

‘Commentators are rightly excited by Virtual Reality’s (VR) potential to deepen the consumer’s experience of recorded and live music, but the ultimate new frontier may be AI, which has the capacity to revolutionise how music is created, discovered and enjoyed in future.’

A report on AI will be published to coincide with the event. Previous BPI Insight Sessions have explored The Connected Car, Blockchain and Virtual Reality.

Places are limited and BPI members wishing to attend are asked to contact hannah.denchfield@bpi.co.uk to reserve a space.
