Megadeth may still be touring off the back of their 2016 album Dystopia, but they’ve already started writing new music for their next album.
The band are widely considered to still be creating some of the best music of their career and frontman Dave Mustaine told Loudwire that while the actual process of putting songs together will start later this year, there’s plenty of music flying between himself and new Megadeth guitarist Kiko Loureiro.
“Kiko and I have actually been talking a lot about it the last couple weeks, sending files back and forth and so on and so forth, which is exciting for me because that’s what makes me tick, writing music,” said Mustaine.
“When I see new files coming back and forth through my email it’s like, ‘yes.’ It’s like Christmas.”
In the interview Mustaine also spoke about how the creation process for Dystopia invigorated him and the band, and that this was the first album where he decided he didn’t care anymore about writing music for radio.
