Paul Epworth was named Producer Of The Year at the Music Producers Guild (MPG) Awards 2017, taking the top prize for the fourth time.

The producer, who has worked with some of the biggest selling artists in pop including Adele, Coldplay and Florence and The Machine, previously picked up the prize in 2010, 2013 and 2015.

Tony Visconti, David Bowie’s producer, picked up the Outstanding Contribution to UK Music as well as International Producer of the Year.

Tarek Musa from PRS for Music Foundation-backed band Spring King was the winner of the prize for Self-Producing Artist of the Year.

Tony Platt, MPG Awards managing director, said: ‘Every year it becomes more and more difficult to find superlatives to describe the fantastic array of talent honoured during our awards event.

‘It is impossible to overstate the contribution these people make to our industry. The next few years will present many new challenges but with this level of creativity and inspiration to call on, we are well placed to face them.’

The event took place at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel last night (Thursday 16 February).
