The Charlatans frontman, soloist and label head Tim Burgess joins the third wave of artists confirmed for Liverpool Sound City this May.
Burgess is joined by the band’s guitarist Mark Collins for a special performance at the Tim Peaks Diner on Sunday.
As well as treating fans to hits from their huge back catalogue, all of The Charlatans will also be signing copies of the highly anticipated new album Different Days.
Other new additions to the line-up include indie dance crossover Formation, Mancunian indie outfit Cupids, heavy poppers Estrons and Liverpool rockers Zuzu.
The festival again welcomes a host of hot showcases with Leeds College of Music presenting Lucy Whittaker, Laminate Pet Animal, Lauren Rycroft, The Golden Age of TV and SaNTINO.
SESAC have Yak, LA Salami and Echotape, and Alya Records showcase Music from Yorkshire features Fizzy Blood, I Set the Sea on Fire, Tremmors and Violet Contours.
Elsewhere, PRS for Music and Musicians’ Union are among the organisations to host stands at the convention, offering delegates the chance to find out more and join.
Sound City chief executive Dave Pichilingi said: ‘This anniversary spectacular just gets better and better. We’re tremendously proud of what we’ve achieved over the last decade and what Sound City has become and I don’t hesitate for a moment to say this is going to be our biggest and best event to date and we still have more to announce. Don’t miss out, it’s going to be incredible.’
The event takes place on 27 and 28 May. For more information and tickets, please visit www.liverpoolsoundcity.co.uk
