David Holmes and his film score composer brother in arms Keefus Ciancia are currently enjoying a musical purple patch.
The pair both have solo histories but recent collaborations in the scoring world including The Motel Life, The Fall season one and two and BBC drama London Spy have ensured their music is now making waves in the world of television scores. They’ve also partnered on David’s Unloved project, band inspired by a shared love of The Shangri La’s, The BBC Radiophonic Workshop and everything else inbetween. But outside the band, it’s their latest work on London Spy that’s making people sit up and take notice.
The score recently saw the pair honoured at the Ivor Novello Awards for Best Television Soundtrack and we were on hand to speak to them on their victory. Watch our video below where we catch up with the winning duo to chew the fat on the mechanics of their award-winning collaboration and reveal who’s getting them most excited in the film score world…
