Septuagenarian sonic traveller George Clinton has been traversing the outer edges of funk, electronics and jazz since the early seventies.
As essential as James Brown or Sly Stone, as wayward as Sun Ra or Moondog, his Afrofuturist pop helped birth hip-hop and took far-out funk to a completely different planet.
As a founder of Funkadelic and Parliament, his psychedelic hi-jinx and raucous improv remains one of the most bankable live shows in modern history, with his band still headlining in excess of 200 concerts a year.
