Live music venues to come together for #oneminuteformanchester

Original article from:

Live music venues across Europe will be coming together for #oneminuteformanchester to remember victims of the terror attack in the city.

Organised by the Music Venue Trust, the call for solidarity among music venues follows the terror attack on Monday (22 May) at Manchester Arena after a concert by US pop star Ariana Grande.

The authorities confirmed that 22 people died and around 59 others were injured following an explosion outside the venue as gig goers were leaving.

Taking placed on Friday 26 May at 9.59pm, the one minute of silence to remember the victims will be followed by ‘one minute of noise’ to show that the live music ‘will not be silenced’.

Beverley Whitrick, Music Venues Trust (MVT) strategic director, was also at The Great Escape talking through the Music Venue Trust manifesto. She called on the incoming British government to ‘reduce the barriers’ facing live music venues and let the sector grow naturally.
