A who’s-who of Aussie music is joining forces for a new national summer concert series dubbed ‘SummerSalt’.
The brainchild of Zaccaria Concerts & Touring, the sun-drenched gigs will feature the power combo of The Cat Empire and Xavier Rudd once again teaming up to play a handful of shows in NSW and WA, while John Butler Trio and Missy Higgins will combine their powers to play a special one-off event in Adelaide’s Glenelg Beach.
The Cat Empire & Rudd recently got together to perform a run of national dates last February, and they must have enjoyed the experience, because they’ll be back for round 2 in November and December of this year, with shows planned for Sydney, the NSW Hunter Valley, Margaret River and Perth.
According to a statement from promoters, SummerSalt “exemplifies the great Australian outdoor summer” and “will take place in some of the most picturesque locations around the country”.
“On top of showcasing the best of home-grown and international bands – it will also bring cultural attractions, placing a very heavy emphasis on local community and sustainability,” they say.
“The concert event will include a dedicated SummerSalt Lounge area (for lounge tickets holders only) for those who wish to enjoy the show at their own pace & leisure. There will also be access for concert goers to market stalls, mobile food options and activities to bring culture and community together.”
Special “green tickets” are also available for an extra $3 for environmentally-minded punters who want to help offset carbon emissions.
